Scouting Report: Demetric Felton – 2016 Athlete

UCLA has recruited well since Jim Mora has been in charge of the program, but they are finally starting to look like they could be neck and neck with USC for recruiting in southern California. One thing that has helped them out a lot has been establishing a pipeline with Ground Zero Athletes and it’s helped them land top linebackers Breland Brandt, Lokeni Toailoa, and Krys Barnes as well as an explosive athlete like Demetric Felton.

Felton is the type of player they failed to land in their previous recruiting class and is a great pickup for the Bruins.

Scouting Report: Damian Alloway – 2016 Athlete

Everyone wants the ideal in terms of body type for football players, but there are always exceptions that don’t fit the mold. Damian Alloway fits into that category.

His dynamic athleticism helps him shine even though he doesn’t have ideal size. The Summit High athlete is one of the top slot receiver prospects in the nation in the 2016 recruiting cycle.

Scouting Report: Devin White – 2016 Athlete

You just need to see Devin White with the ball in his hands running away from a defensive back who has the angle on him to know that he is a special athlete.

How that athleticism at his size is going to fit at the next level is yet to be determined, but the running back/linebacker from North Webster High in Springhill, Louisiana is going to find a fit somewhere on the field for a big time college football program.

Scouting Report: Jamel Cook – 2016 Safety

Florida State certainly never lacks for talent on the defensive side of the ball and they have done a great job of landing recruits in the secondary that have developed into impact players in the ACC like Jalen Ramsey.

The next in line behind Ramsey is likely 5 star stud safety Derwin James. Following right behind James appears to be 2016 safety commit Jamel Cook.

Cook doesn’t bring the physical intimidation part of the game the same way Ramsey and James do, but he’s a unique talent just like them that should be able to do a lot of great things in the Seminoles defense.

Scouting Report: Chase Lucas – 2016 Running Back

Sometimes the difference between really good and elite can be really slim. With a running back recruit, if he does not have the speed to break long runs, then chances are that he will never be considered elite.

I don’t know if I’d put Chase Lucas in the category of elite running backs in this class yet, but he does have that elite trait of being able to take it the distance because of his great speed. He’s one of the top backs in the west in the 2016 recruiting class.

Scouting Report: Trevon Sidney – 2016 Athlete

With the hype surrounding national recruits, it’s easy to forget that all of these players are in the infancy of their football careers. There is so much room for all of them to not only physically and mentally mature, but also improve with technique and their knowledge of the game.

This makes it even harder to project what the future of a prospect is going to be, especially one like Trevon Sidney. The Bishop Amat (California) product shows talent on both sides of the football. We’ll get to see soon how that talent will develop and at what position.

Scouting Report: Mique Juarez – 2016 Athlete

While it’s the stretch run to finish 2015 recruiting, Mique Juarez just sent everyone a reminder that recruiting is not just a now thing when he committed to USC to be part of their 2016 recruiting class.

Every USC fan should be excited about how the current recruiting class is going to finish, but it shouldn’t stop them from being excited about a commitment from Juarez. He is a big time athlete that should end up as one of the top players from the west coast in his recruiting class.

Scouting Report: Saivion Smith – 2016 Cornerback

Some players just have “it”. That sounds ridiculous when you say it and looks even more ridiculous when I’m writing it, but when you watch Saivion Smith play football, that “it” makes a lot more sense.

The cornerback from IMG Academy in Florida has a GPS for the football and is always making plays. It’s that “it” factor that makes him one of the top cornerbacks in the 2016 recruiting class.

Scouting Report: Demetris Robertson – 2016 Athlete

Alabama is dominant in recruiting. Every year, the story never changes. They are going to have the top recruiting class in the nation in 2015 and are set to have another awesome class in 2016.

They are off to a great start with a commitment from Demetris Robertson, one of the top athletes in his class. This kid could be great on either side of the ball at the next level and wherever he ends up, the Tide are getting an impact player.

Scouting Report: Gary Jennings – 2015 Athlete

It’s started. It’s the time of year where players who were 3 star recruits as juniors start getting their senior film out to schools and bigger offers start to come in.

Gary Jennings is one of those recruits who is considered a 3 star player as an athlete, but has flashed big time upside as a senior. That upside he has shown has led to a school like Notre Dame jumping into the mix and I wouldn’t be surprised if a few other schools decided to throw their hat in the ring as time moves on. He’s a talented player who could project to either side of the ball at the next level.
