Scouting Report: Jean Delance – 2016 Offensive Tackle

To a lot of college football fans, Jean Delance is the recruit who de-committed from Oklahoma after the horrible racist incident involving a fraternity. In a couple of years they very well could all know him as one of the top offensive tackles in the nation.

He is a terrific athlete and is someone who is likely going to become an elite player at a school like Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, Texas, or Texas A&M.

Scouting Report: Jordan Elliott – 2016 Defensive Tackle

When Tom Herman added Ed Oliver as a defensive tackle commitment, it opened a lot of eyes to what he and his staff could do at the University of Houston. When they added a commitment from another stud defensive tackle in Jordan Elliott, it showed that what they were doing was no fluke.

It’s going to be a battle to keep Elliott in the fold with programs like LSU, Texas, and USC all still in pursuit of him. If the Cougars can hold onto Elliott and Oliver, they are going to have a potentially dynamic and disruptive duo in the middle of their defense.

Scouting Report: Michael Divinity – 2016 Linebacker

There is always going to be a premium on players that can rush the passer and that is the greatest strength for one of the top outside linebacker recruits in the nation, Michael Divinity.

His 40 time might not be blazing, but his film says SEC speed to me and he is a coveted prospect by several of the top programs in the top conference in college football.

Scouting Report: Justin Madubuike – 2016 Defensive End

Justin Madubuike is listed as a defensive end just about everywhere. And he probably would be one at the next level if he were playing at a college this fall.

He’s not, though. He’s only going to be a senior in high school this season and even if he kicks outside to play this season (he lined up inside as a junior), I think he is likely to grow into an interior player and a very good one at that.

Scouting Report: Shane Buechele – 2016 Quarterback

Charlie Strong and Texas are putting a new emphasis on the quarterback run game from spread this season and it’s more than likely because of the players they have at the position currently. They are adding a big time athlete at the position in Kai Locksley for this season and landed another talented runner in Shane Buechele, who is committed in their 2016 class.

Buechele is one only eighteen quarterbacks selected in the nation to compete at the upcoming Elite 11 and he’ll have the chance to distinguish himself as one of the best recruits in the nation at his position.

Scouting Report: Eric Cuffee – 2016 Cornerback

One thing I always have at the top of my mind is that the player that a recruit is now is not the player that he is going to be later. I think that sometimes that gets lost when it comes to evaluating certain prospects.

I can see faults in Waco High cornerback Eric Cuffee‘s game, but I also think those faults are correctable. He also does some things really well and it’s why he is such a highly coveted recruit with offers from in-state schools like Texas and Texas A&M and national programs like Notre Dame and Alabama.

Scouting Report: Tren’Davian Dickson – 2016 Wide Receiver

I know there is a lot of talent from Texas every year, but wow, there is a lot of talent in Texas this year. There’s enough to go around that Baylor, TCU, A&M, and Texas could all have monster classes while losing some prospects they’d like to sign to each other on signing day.

Navasota wide receiver Tren’Davian Dickson was committed to Baylor before opening up his recruitment and every school in Texas and beyond had to be happy that they could have another shot to land him. He’s a playmaker that is emerging as one of the top wide receiver recruits in the nation.

Scouting Report: Erick Fowler – 2016 Edge Player

Undersized pass rushers need other traits to make them effective and Erick Fowler has all of those traits programs are looking for to make up for him not being the ideal size.

The Manor, Texas native has explosive qualities he can bring off the edge and it’s why he is such a coveted recruit for programs like Texas, LSU, and Alabama.

Scouting Report: Jeffrey McCulloch – 2016 Linebakcer

Every talent evaluator loves to mention a players length, but that length means nothing unless a player knows how to use it.

Fortunately, Aldine Davis linebacker Jeffrey McCulloch already knows how to take advantage of the physical gifts he has and it’s one skill that makes him one of the top linebacker prospects in the nation in this recruiting cycle.
